WHAT WE DO
At B'nei Mitzvah time, Family Ties brings generations
together and guides them through a hands-on,
once-in-a-lifetime experience.
In a quiet moment before the B'nei Mitzvah weekend begins, family members come together to exchange strands (tzitzit)
of their own tallit with the child's tallit –connecting
generations into one garment woven with
love and tradition.
As the tzitzit are re-tied, each family member offers the child a personal blessing, as we symbolically "tie the blessings
into the knots," which transforms the tallit into a
tangible memory that becomes part of the child's
B'nei Mitzvah journey and beyond.
WHY IT MATTERS
- Strengthens the bond between generations through a shared experience

- Deepens the child's understanding of their place within the story of the Jewish people and those who came before them
